My Story

I have experience in conducting independent survey research and field work. My independent research interests include bird physiological and genetic adaptation to extreme environments (e.g. hypoxia and hypothemia) and dietary specialization (e.g. high-sucrose dietary), and bird trait evolution (e.g. metabolic rate and sociality). I try integrating sequencing technique and experimental design to reveal key gene function and physiological metabolism in high-altitude songbirds. Some skills include transcriptomic sequencing, western blot, histology, and RNA interference.
